IBPS exam conducted all over India for the posts of clerks in 19 public sector banks was held on 27th November 2011. The paper was similar to the pattern established by the other bank exams. The exam had sections of English language, quantitative aptitude, reasoning, general awareness and computer awareness. Each section was for 50 marks with a total score of 250 marks.

As per the statistics of previous exams conducted a total of anything above 150 marks might land you with a job.But take the detail that the paper was a bit on the easy side. Hence the overall marks percentage will increase leading to the fact that the 150 marks might not be enough...but still any score above 150, you have a pretty decent chance.

I am not forgetting about the idea of section cutoff. You need to score a minimum of cutoff marks in each section. The cutoff for every exam vary and is decided based on the number of students who write the exam and the average marks they have scored. But generally the marks might be like this..

  1. English language- 20 marks
  2. Quantitative aptitude- 26 marks
  3. Reasoning- 28 marks
  4. General awareness- 30 marks
  5. Computer awareness- 30 marks

Totaling this basic figures will get you to a sum of 134 marks. That is the average score a well prepared guy is supposed to score in the exam.

Here the section cut off for general awareness and computer is kept a bit high taking regards to the number of basic general knowledge question that was on offer.A moderately prepared guy would have no problems in passing this cut off.

All the guys who have attempted the exam might consider evaluating the exam in your own mind.

Think yourself where you might have been a bit lacking in. Once you identified it , the next part is too easy for you. Study and practice mock tests..Practice makes a man perfect. If you take a determined effort to do at least a bit a day on the area where you lacks, there will be no stopping you . The next IBPS exam will be yours.Remember that the IBPS exam is conducted twice a year and there are always second chances. Don't let that second chance slip away.
