As per notification Staff Selection Commission will conduct SSC JE (Junior Engineer) Exam for Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Quantity Surveying in the beginning of December (Fixed Date that published in the Employment  News is 6th December ). The exam will be online. According to the syllabus that provided by Commission question will be multiple choice. The question will covers General Intelligence & reasoning, General Awareness and General Engineering. The exam will be two hours duration for 200 marks.  Each question will carry one mark. For every wrong answer, one-third mark will be deducted.

Out of total 200 questions, 50 questions will be asked from General  Awareness, 50 questions will be asked from General Intelligence & reasoning and remaining 100 will be asked from General Engineering.

The syllabus of general intelligence &  reasoning  and General Awareness is same for all branch. So I am here going to discuss some tricks for these sections. Actually General Intelligence & reasoning  is an essential part of almost all the competitive examination. Without General Intelligence no person can be perfect for a job. So as a job seeker a candidate must have the general intelligence. To prepare in this section is not too difficult. It is the easiest section to score high in the competitive exam. You do not need to follow any particular book to prepare this section. You can follow any book which includes general intelligence & reasoning as a part. Maximum of questions in this section are as coding-decoding, analogy, classification, alphabet testing, word formation, find missing number from the series, blood relation, direction sense test, order & sequence, clock & calendar, inserting the missing character, Venn diagram, mirror image etc. A book by Arihant or R.S. Agarwal can be recommended for this section if you are preferred. If you understand the main theme of question once, then you will no need to revise the book again.

General Awareness is also a common part for all the competitive exams. Without general awareness testing no competitive exam or interview can be completed. But in the Engineering job this section is much important. Although in the SSC Junior Engineer exam, question will be asked from this section. So you have to prepare for this section also. I think this section is little separate from other section. Because questions of this section includes all matter of country, neighbor country, environment, politics, history, geography, economy etc. However, if you prepare properly for this section, no matter to earn maximum mark in this section also. You have to read a newspaper daily to grow up your current affairs and general knowledge.

General Engineering part is the most important part for the SSC JE (Junior Engineer) Exam. This part carries maximum marks. The syllabus of this section will be different for different branch. Candidates should have to follow their own branch subject to prepare in this section.  For civil engineers, they should have to follow civil engineering syllabus provided by commission. For electrical engineers, they should have to electrical engineering syllabus. For mechanical engineers, they should have to follow mechanical engineering syllabus and so on. However, any candidate from any branch, he/she should have clear knowledge of basic concepts of his/her branch subject to score high in this section. So always be cool and clear the basic concepts to score maximum in the SSC JE Exam.

All the best.
